Olivia Rodrigo has released the lead single from her upcoming third album.
Titled drop dead, the dreamy, synth-led pop track serves as the first preview of 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love' and arrives with a video directed by Petra Collins, filmed at the Palace of Versailles in Paris.
Produced by Dan Nigro and co-written with Amy Allen, it finds the three-time Grammy-winner discussing stalking a crush from bed, said crush being a Gemini, and referencing The Cure track Just Like Heaven, which Rodrigo performed with Robert Smith during her Sunday night headline set at Glastonbury Festival last year.
Rodrigo introduced the follow-up to 2023's 'Guts' earlier this month, confirming its June 12 release date and revealing its cover art.
Rodrigo has spent the last couple of years on the road with her Guts World Tour and, last December, released 'Live From Glastonbury (A BBC Recording)', capturing her performance at the famous Worthy Farm festival.
