Lucia and The Best Boys have announced their second album.

The Scottish band will release 'Picking Petals' through Communion Records on July 31, following their 2023 debut 'Burning Castles'.

Rooted in Lucia Fairfull's Scottish upbringing, the album finds her teaming up with renown alt-pop producer Yves Rothman, but rather than flying to sunny Los Angeles, she insisted they work from Mogwai's Castle of Doom studio in her native Glasgow.

The news comes alongside the release of a new propulsive, synthy-driven indie-pop track, You Look Like Somebody In Love, which arrives with a video directed by Sal Redpath. It follows the band earlier single from the record, Lonely Girl featuring Chvrches' Lauren Mayberry, released in February.

The album also features a vocal contribution on the track Big Romance from The Last Dinner Party frontwoman Abigail Morris, who previously played keyboards for the band on a few Scottish dates.

Lucia and The Best Boys will appear at several festivals this spring and summer, followed by their biggest headline show to date, a homecoming performance at Barrowland on October 23, alongside dates in Manchester and London. Tickets are on sale now.

'Picking Petals' tracklist:

1. Back Inside My Heart
2. Lonely Girl (feat. Lauren Mayberry)
3. Wolf Cry
4. Better For The Worse
5. You Look Like Somebody In Love
6. Picking Petals
7. Pleasure And A Prayer
