Beastie Boys' Mike D has released another solo single.
Serving up hazy samples, fuzzy guitars and reverb-drenched vocals, What We Got arrives less than a month after the rapper's debut solo track, Switch Up, and took shape during the same studio sessions with producer Carter Lang, Mike D's sons Davis and Skyler Diamond, and collaborators Jason Lader, Benjamin Pacheco, Kevin Rhomberg and Tyran Donaldson.
Mike D, real name Michael Diamond, recently played two sold-out shows in Brooklyn and will tour Europe and the UK next month, including two dates in London and an appearance at Beyond The Pale festival in Wicklow, Ireland. Tickets are on sale now.
The Beastie Boys' last album was 2011's 'Hot Sauce Committee, Part Two', and Mike D hasn’t performed with the group since Adam "MCA" Yauch died the following year.
