Massive Attack have scheduled shows for their first Australian headline tour in 16 years.
The British trip hop giants will perform at Brisbane's Entertainment Centre, Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena and Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on August 6, 9 and 11, respectively, marking their first dates Down Under since 2010. Tickets go on general sale at 3pm local time on Friday (June 5).
The announcement follows a period of activity from Robert “3D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall, who in April released Boots On The Ground, a politically-charged collaboration with Tom Waits and his son Casey that had been completed for some time. The track ended a six-year period without new music from the band, whose most recent studio release is the 2020 EP 'Eutopia', which was available via YouTube as a collection of videos, but not on the usual streaming services.
Their latest studio album remains 2010's 'Heligoland', though they put out a deluxe edition of 1998's 'Mezzanine' in 2019.
Massive Attack recently kicked off a run of shows across Europe, which continues with a performance at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark tonight (June 1).
