Cara Delevingne has shared a new single.
Arriving via Warner Records, Need It marks the latest release in the multi-hyphenate's emerging music career, following her interconnected first two singles I Forgot and Out Of My Head, both of which dropped last month.
The new song was written with Tommy King, Victoria Ryann Zaro, Amelia Meath, Brandon Joyner Burton and Delevingne's old friend and mentor Fiona Apple, with whom she's previously collaborated, singing backing vocals on the New York singer-songwriter's 2020 album 'Fetch the Bolt Cutters'. It was co-produced by Delevinge and Burton, whose previous credits include Bon Iver and Charli XCX.
On working with Apple, Delevingne said: "She's an absolute savant when it comes to portraying emotion and melody and lyric, and she was a big supporter of this album. The song is a ‘dance banger’ that we wrote over text through Post-It notes that we would send each other."
The track serves as a further preview of Delevingne's forthcoming, currently unannounced debut album, expected later this summer, with more information to be revealed in the coming weeks.
