ImageA US rapper with Eminem's band D-12 was shot dead during the early hours of this morning at a nightclub in Detroit.

Proof, real name Deshaun Holton, was reportedly involved in a scuffle outside the CCC club on the cities Eight Mile Road at around 4.30am this morning when he and another man were shot.

It was revealed this afternoon that Proof was killed  at the scene, after a fateful gunshot wound to the head.

The second man shot, currently unnamed by the Police, is critically ill in a Detroit hospital.

A spokesperson from D-12’s label Interscope has confirmed that earlier rumours suggesting fellow D-12 rapper Bizarre was also involved were false.

"Contrary to earlier rumors and reports, D-12 member Bizarre was not involved in the incident in Detroit last night, he was at home in Atlanta, Georgia."
