This Halloween will see Newport’s Club Fire & Ice host to a batch of the UK’s up and coming underground Grime/Bassline/R’N’B/Funky House stars on October 30th. Take your pick from the line up of acts to find the next Dizzee Rascal, Leona Lewis or N-Dubz.
Topping the bill with special guest Bristolian X-factor finalist Nicole Jackson, are Slick Don, who was recently named the best bassline MC at the Bassline Awards and is set to make a video of one of his recent hits ‘I wanna take a bum brownie home’, and SG, featured on 1Xtra with Tim Westwood.
Also appearing will be Jroad (Just Reality On a Disc), Miss She She and EOM (A Dot Man, R Dott J and Eyez). Guest DJs are Big Goss and Bullet from Birmingham, K Krush and K Styles from Bristol, Abraham from Bath, plus Big Crumb, Mimi Love and Luke Mills from Cardiff.
“We’re bringing a new trend to Newport. These artists are working hard underground and in 2010 they’ll be bigger in the music industry,” said Seanie Blitz of Blitzy Promotions. “Come to Newport to see these artists that’s on dis ting for 2009, breaking through to 2010.”
