Former frontman of the anti-folk band ‘The Mouldy Peaches’, New-Yorker Adam Green, is continuing his anti-folk crusade by announcing a January 2010 UK tour. Click Here for tickets.

Shaggy-haired, confused, wrinkled and occasionally (allegedly) drunk on national TV, Adam Green looks very folky, but he’s probably taking the genre down from the inside. He’s produced five albums so far, full of simplistic, sometimes tongue-in-cheek, almost Leonard Cohen-y tunes. His sixth album, ‘Minor Love’ is due out in January.

Probably best known in Britain for his cover of The Libertine’s track ‘What a Waster’, Green has also seen some recognition with his notorious song ‘Jessica’ about Jessica Simpson. Kicking off in Dublin on Jan 26, Adam Green’s tour looks like this:

Jan 26 – Dublin Academy 2, Eire
Jan 27 – Belfast Speakeasy
Jan 29 – Glasgow Stereo
Jan 30 – Newcastle Academy 2
Jan 31 – Leeds Cockpit
Feb 01 – Manchester Club Academy
Feb 03 – Cambridge Junction
Feb 04 – London Electric Ballroom
Feb 05 – Birmingham Academy 2
Feb 06 – Brighton Concorde 2
