The Killers Announce Indefinite Hiatus

Las Vegas Indie titans The Killers have announced that they will be taking an ‘indefinite hiatus’ once their latest tour comes to an end.

The Killers entered the spotlight in a whirlwind of hype. The bands glamorous looks and slick synths seemed to echo the likes of Duran Duran, while their lyrics told the story of sleaze underneath the bright lights of Vegas. The band has enjoyed massive success with all of their albums from the early days of ‘Hot Fuss’ right through to latest offering ‘Day And Age’. Smashing the charts, their latest single ‘Human’ has helped fill stadiums all over the world.

Favourites on the festival scene also, the band has played to some enormous crowds across the globe. With their fan base growing all the time it could be said that The Killers are one of the biggest bands in the world today. However recent reports have suggested that all was not right.

Rumours that the band were fighting behind closed doors were common, with singer Brandon Flowers acting as peacemaker updating fans that all was ok. Now, The Killers have announced that they are set to go on hiatus due to exhaustion from constant touring.

Currently touring in Australia, The Killers are to take a break when the tour ends on February 21st. I'm not sure if people are aware of it but these are probably our last shows for a while," guitarist Dave Keuning told the Associated Press.

"We haven't had a break in quite a while. It's just been touring and making records and on and on and on. It's been like six years just kind of connected together" he continued.

"It's like people just expect us to do that non-stop till we die, but we just want a little bit of time off, just to be myself and do what I want to do for a little bit."

It has also been rumoured that lead singer Brandon Flowers was planning to pursue a solo career. The front man has since denied such rumours that he was to leave the band.
