Rage Against The Machine Free Show Details Announced

The long anticipated details for rap metal group Rage Against The Machine’s huge free party have arrived!

In over a decade the UK charts have not experienced such a close competition for the number one spot. In one corner: Mr Simon Cowell, an entertainment mogul worth the annual turnover of several medium sized African nations. In the other corner: a PC, Facebook and two regular people campaigning to have Rage Against The Machine as Britain’s Christmas number one. Let battle commence!

With the Facebook campaign gathering huge public support and creating a genuine competition for X Factor winner Joe McElderry, in the end it was Rage who emerged triumphant.

Upon hearing of the victory Rage Against The Machine promised a tremendous free concert to celebrate the revolution and thank fans for the support. The band have now unveiled details of such a show which will see them take over Finsbury Park on June 6th with some exciting support acts.

With details about the show still a bit thin on the ground, a full line up is still yet to be confirmed. Fans will need to be aware that to register for tickets you will need to visit the website www.theragefactor.co.uk where you will be entered into a lottery to win a ticket. There is a maximum of two tickets per person, and registration does not guarantee a ticket.

Speaking about the chart battle victory, guitarist Tom Morello said: “A historic grassroots rebellion made our song 'Killing in the Name' the number one Christmas single of 2009. The people of the UK toppled the X-Factor giant, raised a great deal of money for homeless charities, and shocked the world. As a thankyou to our UK fans and freedom fighters we promised to play a free show. Well...here we come. June 6th, Finsbury Park, the celebration/party/revolution is ON!!"

Rage Against The Machine are to play the following show:

June 2010

6th Finsbury Park, London
