Muse and Stevie Wonder Added to Glastonbury's 40th Year Celebrations

Friday, 12 February 2010 Written by Matt Hamm

After all the rumours and guess work, Muse and Motown legend Stevie Wonder have now been officially announced as the other headliners for this summer’s 40th Anniversary Glastonbury Festival.

Joining U2, who are topping Friday’s bill on the Pyramid Stage, Muse will play the Saturday (26th), with Stevie popping his Glastonbury cherry in the prestigious Sunday slot to close the festival.

Muse have previously headlined back in 2004, and lead singer Matt Bellamy still holds special memories of the event. Speaking to the BBC, he said “when you go out to the countryside and look at some cows and breathe in some fresh air and watch some good music, I think everyone connects with something which has been missing from city life”.

Glastonbury Festival takes place from June 23-27 at Worthy Farm in Somerset, but if you want tickets then you’re in for disappointment – all 175,000 are sold out.
