Teenage Party Riot to Blame for Cancelled Courtney Love Gig

Random controversy appears to follow Courtney Love around, and yesterday was no exception. Hole’s London gig was cancelled last night due to a riot occurring on the street Love was staying on!

Due to play at Camden’s Proud Galleries, Courtney Love was stuck after a party got out of hand on Park Lane, as thousands of teenagers flooded the street. The Telegraph reported that police attended the scene, leading to Park Lane and Oxford Street being shut off during the incident.

An anonymous eyewitness has said “the police had their shields and batons raised and the teenagers were stood about 30 yards away being very rowdy. The atmosphere was pretty tense”.

The singer/guitarist’s band are due to play their first gig in 11 years on February 17th for one of the Shockwaves NME Awards Show at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
