BRITs 2010 Winners

Another BRIT Awards and another night to remember with Lady Gaga, Dizzee Rascal amongst other stars leading the proceedings.

Controversy and The BRITs come hand-in-hand with one another. Over the years the awards show has been rattled by accusations of favouring the industry favourites rather than realising the actual real new talent.

With the 2010 show going ahead last night, February 16th, the show celebrated its 30th anniversary with Pete Kay hosting the seemingly incident free ceremony – barring the odd Liam Gallagher stroppy moment.

Included in the award winners was flamboyant as ever Lady Gaga who came away with three awards for ‘International Female Solo Artist’, ‘International Album’ and ‘International Breakthrough Act’. Wearing what can only be described as a ‘dress’ (I think), the American pop singer gave a personal tribte to the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. While clutching one of her awards the singer broke down in tears during one of her acceptance speeches.

In other categories rap star Dizzee Rascal stormed in to pick up ‘British Male Solo Artist’, a great moment for the London star who’s award will no doubt top a stunning year. His slick new album ‘Tongue N Cheek’ has exploded into the charts and spawned some exceptional singles.

Joining Dizzee on the winners podium was foul mouthed pop pixie Lily Allen who picked up the award for ‘British Female Solo Artist’ amid uncertainty of her future music career.
