Sir Paul McCartney Confirms Huge Outdoor UK Gigs & Tickets

The former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney, has confirmed details of four huge live shows for the UK this summer. Headlining two festivals and performing at two massive stadiums, Macca will play the Isle Of Wight Festival, Hampden Park, Millennium Stadium and Hyde Park Calling, all later this year in June.

Sir Paul McCartney is probably the most successful British songwriter of all time. Starting out as half of the partnership that propelled The Beatles to worldwide fame, the Liverpool musician then went on to drive Wings to international success.

Having turned solo, Sir Paul has experienced a few duff moments – remember that “Frog Chorus” anyone – but has mainly dealt with the weight of his past very well. Now confirming a series of dates across the UK, The former Beatle is heading out on the road to front a series of mammoth gigs.

First up is the Isle Of Wight Festival on June 13th where Sir Paul McCartney and his band will headline the Sunday night of the weekend bash. Then there are two stadium shows set for both Hampden Park on June 20th and the Millennium Stadium on June 26th before Macca ends in London’s Hyde Park at the Hard Rock Calling event on June 27th.

The 26th June concert at the Millennium Stadium will be Sir Paul McCartney’s first gig in Cardiff for nearly 31 years. He had this to say, "I want to make sure it's a great night for everyone, a total blast. We want it to be a night that none of us forget. The last time I was there was with Wings in the '70s so there's a lot for us to catch up on."

The concerts will feature music from the entire career of Sir Paul, who turns 68 a couple of days before the Glasgow gig. As well as tracks from the Beatles catalogue and songs from his years with Wings, there will also be recent tracks including music from his 2008 album ‘Electric Arguments’.

Sir Paul McCartney will play the following UK dates:

26th Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
27th Hard Rock Calling, Hyde Park, London
