Liam Gallagher Music Rant: 'Indie Is A Disease'

Ex-Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has once again created a stir amongst the music world, this time launching a stinging attack on indie music, as well as his brother Noel.

Seemingly being unable to keep his mouth shut, Liam Gallagher has always kicked up a storm. Even before they were famous Oasis ended up in trouble, with the bulk of the band being arrested on a ferry when travelling to a show in Holland.

Since those early days things havent seem to have changed with the singer having a number of run-ins with some famous rivals. Now, since the split of Oasis last year, Liam Gallagher seems to be concentrating his energies on his brother Noel Gallagher.

In a recent interview with Esquire Magazine, the frontman was asked who he thought was the most over-rated man in history. His answer? “Has to be Noel Gallagher" the singer replied, before slating a long list of bands he dislikes.

"I really despise this new fucking disease of indie fucking shit, fucking student music, the likes of Bloc Party and all that fucking nonsense. They don't keep me awake at night, but it's just shite, and they can fucking have it mate".

Liam continued, "The thing is, man, you can make your clothes look like they've been worn in and look as if they've had a bit of character, but underneath you've got to have a fucking wash. Those fuckers wear the clothes all the fucking time and they don't wash, so it's like, 'Where's the fucking bench?' I've heard plenty of bands that can write a decent enough tune then you see them and I go, 'Thank f**k - they look like s**t.' If you look good and you've got the tunes, you're away man."

At the moment, Liam Gallagher is working on new material with the remaining members of Oasis. This occasion wouldn’t be the first time the singer has slated his brother. He famously omitted him from a BRIT award acceptance speech a few weeks ago.

Noel Gallagher meanwhile has kept his mouth shut. Although it is rumoured the songwriter joked about his brother’s beahaviour at a BRIT Awards aftershow party.

Noel is set to play just two dates later this year at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The shows will be part of the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts.
