Country Legend Willie Nelson Announces UK Tour Dates & Tickets

The American ‘outlaw entertainer’ Willie Nelson is to play two UK dates in Manchester and London.
The 76-year-old country legend will headline the Manchester Apollo on June 10th and the London’s Hammersmith Apollo on June 11th. The star, who has performed alongside musical icons such as Bob Dylan, is also rumoured to appear at this year’s Glastonbury festival on June 25th. Nelson last played the event ten years ago.
Fans worldwide will know that the adventurous Nelson can sing just about anything, and with just about anyone he pleases – remember that Jessica Simpson duet! As he sees it, “The more songs you know, the more musicians you listen to, the more writers you hear, the better equipped you are to decide where you want to go next. That’s why I want to listen to everyone and everything and then decide which way I want to go. Then of course, I might change my mind and go in an entirely different direction. But at least I have all these options.”
The singer/song-writer released his latest album and solo debut ‘American Classic’ last year on Blue Note Records. The album presented a dozen classics from the Great American Songbook and featured guest appearances by Diana Krall and Norah Jones, plus jazz luminaries Christian McBride (bass), Joe Sample (piano), and Louis Nash (drums). The record has been rated as one the legend's best offerings.
This brief jaunt to the UK is in support of Nelson’s, unbelievably, 81st studio album! ‘Country Music’, the star’s first bluegrass album, will be released this April.

11th HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London
Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 12th March priced from £30.00 for the Manchester show and from £35 for the London show.
