New City Music Venue - Debut London - Set To Open Its Doors

Debut London is set to be one of the city’s most exciting and innovative new music venues and event spaces when it officially opens its doors on Friday 21st May 2010.

The new club, on Weston Street (London Bridge), will kick off with a night of music from Dave De Rose, 2000 Fast Women, Sound of Rum and London Blackmarket. With DJ sets from Red Shift Rebels, Yila, Aloosh and more TBC.

Part of the philosophy of Debut London is to support edgy new talent and so it is apt that the opening night (this Friday) will see an exciting array of emerging bands and DJs take to the stage alongside a live art battle from Monorex, hosted in the Blue Arch.

There will also be live painting in the Grey Arch while a host of other artists hang work in the room. They will be accompanied by DJs playing a chilled set throughout the evening.

The venue has four rooms in total - the Main Arch that holds 1,200 people alongside The Blue Arch (650), the Grey Arch (400) and the Red Arch (400).

Architecturally unique with a series of interlocking rooms, there is nothing else like it in terms of music venues in the capital. It is currently being transformed into what will be primarily a vibrant live band space with a World Class PA system, and premiere lighting design.

Modular in design, Debut London is an amazingly versatile multi purpose space that can either be used as a whole, for large concerts and mini festivals or reduced to individual rooms for new buzz bands, depending on requirement.

It is ideally situated in Weston Street under the arches, close to London Bridge National Rail and the London Underground, as well as being on several major bus routes.

As well as facilitating established bands and artists in the main room one of the objectives for Debut London will be to showcase up and coming new talent and there will be regular nights hosted by the Debut London team, independent labels and promoters to do just that.

In addition to being a music venue, Debut London will host a series of cutting edge events and alternative nights. These will include sporting events, in particular this year’s world cup, a regular boutique cinema, art shows, comedy theatre nights, outdoor street events and mini festivals during the summer months. Expect the unexpected.
