Coventry City Football Club was founded in 1883 by Willie Stanley, an employee of local cycle firm Singers. The club was originally known as Singers FC until 1898 when the name was changed to Coventry City.
Voted into the Football League in 1919, the club's famous sky blue home kit was unveiled in 1963, with the club's nickname changed to the Sky Blues. They play at the 32,609 capacity Coventry Building Society Arena (or CBS Arena), formerly known as the Ricoh Arena.
