Awate is a rapper and producer from Camden. As a refugee from Saudi Arabia, his music focus on themes like racism, self-esteem, pride and class.
Having honed his craft from the age of 12, he's earned himself mentors in Poisonous Poets, Stylah, Lowkey, DJ Semtex and Yasiin Bey, and is supported by the likes of MOBO, BBC 6 Music, Noisey, Radio X and KISS fm. His first release was 2016's 'Shine Ancient' EP, and he followed this up with another, 'Jewels', in October 2017. Awat is set to release his debut full length album in 2018. Awate has regularly held small headline shows around in London, building up a reputation as an engaging performer, and has toured worldwide with the likes of Lowkey, Jay Electronica, Ghetts, Big Daddy Kane, and Blackstar.
