Blackburn Rovers Football Club was established in 1875 following a meeting between two old boys of Shrewsbury school, John Lewis and Arthur Constantine, at the St. Leger Hotel on King William Street.

Along with 11 other clubs, Blackburn became a founding member of The Football League in 1888, and the Premier League in 1992. They have played their home matches at Ewood Park since 1890, a stadium that remains their home to this day.

They've been English champions three times, and have won six FA Cups, and one Football League Cup. Their main rivals are Burnley Football Club.
