Buraka Som Sistema, is a Portuguese, kuduro EDM band, consisting of Rui Pité (DJ Riot), João Barbosa (Branko), Andro Carvalho, Kalaf ngelo , Blaya, and Fred.
Formed in 2002, they released an EP ‘From Buraka To The World,’ on the Portuguese label Enchufada. This was followed by ‘Black Diamond’ in 2008, released by Sony BMG. The band won an MTV Europe Awards that year for Best Portuguese Act. After touring in Europe, and playing festivals such as Glastonbury, and Roskilde, the band released their second album, ‘Komba’, in 2011, and ‘Buraka’ in 2014. In 2016, the band play Brixton Electric in March, for their ’Signing Off After 10 Years’ show. Check below to find tickets through Stereoboard.
