On August 6th 2012 Universal Music are to release Rob Zombie’s 'Mondo Sex Head', featuring new and unique remixes of Rob Zombie classics by some of today’s top DJs, including KoRn’s Jonathan “JDevil” Davis, Photek, the Bloody Beetroots, Drumcorps and Ki:Theory. 'Mondo Sex Head' was curated and executive produced by Jason Bentley, Music Director at L.A.’s influential KCRW and Electronic Dance Music expert. Richard Bishop, co-executive producer of RE:GENERATION music project and documentary film, supervised the project. Each track was hand selected by Rob Zombie who road-tested many of the songs in his car, driving the L.A. streets.

Virtuoso guitarist and visionary composer Steve Vai is set to release a new solo album of original material on September 17th (in the UK) called ‘The Story Of Light’. The title comes out on Favored Nations Entertainment, the label Vai founded in 1999. Its sprawling and expressive 12-song set continues a conceptual and cosmic narrative arc begun on the artist’s acclaimed 2005 album 'Real Illusions: Reflections', Vai’s last studio album.

Billy Corgan and co are finally back. After a long, but not Guns and Roses-esque, five year wait for a brand new full-length release following 2007s epic 'Zeitgeist' record, we find the Pumpkins in a more able, creative mood than before. After all, when this is billed as an “album within an album”, you have to be going through a process of throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks.
