Jet are putting the finishing touches to 20 tracks, for the long and eagerly awaited follow-up to 2003's debut breakthrough album 'Get Born'. The Austalian band are currently in the studio at the Hillside Manor in L.A, working on their second as-yet-untitled album.
The band have managed to whittle the tracks down to 20 from the original 27 that they entered the studio with last month. A message on the bands website states "We've tracked 20 cracking songs. We are now happy to tell you that not only do we have drums and bass finished but that we are well into guitar overdubs. That means we are inundated with a cache of beautiful vintage guitars and amps." They went on to say, "Other Jet activity this week included some 'proper' discussions about album title and art work for the cover. But we are not at liberty to divulge this information as we need to keep some surprises for you guys...I mean, we know we're in another paradigm shift and all and that the world is getting closer and that the people want access and blah blah blah.but that's no fun now, is it?" The band will be returning to the UK for the first time in over a year, when they perform at this summers V Festival. They will take to the main stages of the event at Chelmsford’s Hylands Park (August 20) and Staffordshire’s Weston Park (August 21) and will play warm-up show at Nottingham Rock City on August 18th.
