Scissor Sisters are close to finishing work on their second album, which promises a more experimental sound.
The New York dance outfit revealed they are close to finishing work on the follow-up to the self-titled debut album.
Singer Ana Matronic told Rolling Stone: "There's been a lot of experimentation. I think there's still a little bit more exploration we want to do before we're ready to say, 'OK, cool, it's done.' But it's so close."
She also revealed that the band have written a song called 'Paul McCartney', which came to co-singer Jake Shears in an odd dream. She said: "He had a dream and wrote the song when he woke up."
"It was a really amazing dream about Paul McCartney, so it's definitely a homage. But it doesn't sound anything like any Paul McCartney song that I've ever heard. It's pure hands-in-the-air, ridiculous disco fun."
