David Lyre To Release Debut Single 'Tear Them Down'

David's Lyre releases his debut single 'Tear Them Down' through East City Records on September 6th 2010.

Originally hailing from London and currently based in Manchester, the mainly self-produced sound of David's Lyre mixes dance infused, often grime-like beats with brilliantly simple melodies, and a breathtaking voice.

'Tear Them Down', his first single release, was recorded at Major Toms Studio in Hoxton with help from Amir Amor, whose previous work includes Plan B, Yuck, and Marina & The Diamonds.

Already getting picked up in the blogosphere, 20-year-old David's Lyre has received early airplay from Tom Robinson, John Kennedy and Zane Lowe. His combination of incredible vocals, infectious hooks and insightful, philosophical lyrics has earned him high praise as a much-needed fresh-sounding male solo artist.

David's Lyre started gathering serious attention from fans and industry alike at the start of the year through a series of YouTube covers. These included tracks by the likes of Ellie Goulding and Florence & The Machine. He has also provided his unique take on other artist's releases, including an official remix for Marina & The Diamonds' latest single 'Oh No!', and is currently working on more.
