Lil Kim To Collaborate On Dr Dre's 'Detox' Album

Dr Dre’s long awaited new album ‘Detox’ is set to feature an appearance from female rap star Lil Kim.

Dr Dre, perhaps the ultimate hip-hop producer that has ever lived, has been working on his new ‘Detox’ album for ages. Every now and then we get an update on when the album is likely to drop, although with the producer coming up with new idea after new idea, the album seems to be forever delayed.

Originally planned for a 2004 release, ‘Detox’ will see the return of Dr Dre heading the mic. With the superstar’s last solo material being ‘2001’, an album which was released over a decade ago, its safe to say Dre’s new album is being massively anticipated by hip-hop fans across the world.

It’s not as though Dr Dre has been lazing around with his time though. The producer has been busy taking care of Eminem’s comeback album ‘Relapse’ as well as his more recent release ‘Recovery’. Both of which have been huge successes in the UK and the States.

Starting to focus on his own work once again, Dr Dre has apparently teamed up with controversial star Lil Kim for a track. Speaking in a recent interview with Hip Hop DX, the R&B singer confirmed the collaboration. "I'm on Dr. Dre's 'Detox' album. I'm really excited about that one."

In other news, a preview of ‘Detox’ track “Shit Popped Off” appeared on a US high-profile advertisement for Dr Pepper earlier this year. That’s about all the details we have about the new album. As for a release date? I’m afraid you’ve got no chance. The album is rumored to still be a long way off from completion.
