Former Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has decided to set up his own horror movie production company.
The company, aptly named ‘Slasher Films’ have teamed up with Scout Productions in the hope of producing films in the vein of 70's and 80's thrillers.
In a statement, Slash revealed, "I've always been a huge horror fan and creating films that take you back to the days where horror movies actually scared the hell out of you is something I've always wanted to do. My audience is made up of young, edgy, discerning consumers, with an appetite for quality and a hint of anarchy."
Slash also announced that the company's first picture is titled ‘Nothing to Fear’. The film will tell the story of a small town family in Kansas tormented by an ancient demon with a ferocious blood lust. Production is expected to begin early next year, with a suspected 2011 Halloween release date. The script has been written by Jonathan W. C. Mills.
It is unclear at present what role Slash will play in the production process, however sources have said that he wishes to be involved in the film directly, either through a cameo role or with the inclusion of his music to the soundtrack.
