Amy Winehouse On The Comeback Trail?

It’s been quite a while since Amy Winehouse has made the news and even longer since it’s been for music related reasons. However, it appears that the London jazz diva may be about to re-surface in an attempt to revive her once-promising career.

Winehouse has divided opinions ever since her breakthrough 2006 album ‘Back In Black’ and the 27 year old now looks set for a much anticipated comeback in the new year with a new album, due for release next year year, in the works too.

According to internet reports Winehouse is planning to make a number of private appearances, first in Russia next month and then a mini six-date tour of Brazil which The Sun have reported could be worth as much as £300,000.

What sort of reaction she will get if/when she returns is uncertain after her two intimate shows in London last month received mixed reviews from gig-goers.

The Libertines' show-stealing performances at this years Reading and Leeds festivals may have buoyed Winehouse’s promoters into believing that she can go some way in turning public opinion around in the same way Pete Doherty did following those shows.

Whether that could happen remains to be seen but what is certain is that these gigs would become one of the bigger events of 2011. Keep checking back with Stereoboard for further news as we get it.
