VIOLET BONES are a four piece indie pop band from Cambridge where they pack an impressive 1000 fans into the Corn Exchange. Their fierce DIY ethic and constant touring across the UK has earned them support slots with punk heroes New York Dolls and Ash and they have also been tipped as ones to watch by BBC Introducing after their recent session at BBC Cambridge debuting their single 'Motion'.
Violet Bones performed a well received show at this year's ITC. Their singles 'I Feel The Need' and '78s & 45s' were supported by BBC Cambridgeshire and a host of fanzines and local radio stations. 'I Feel The Need' was at No. 1 on the Pre-Order Chart at Play.com for several weeks.
Violet Bones are a band of many talents. Guitarist Rik managed to kill his hamster with loud guitar playing and drummer Oz owns a full private pilot's license. But the killer fact for the uninitiated is that bassist Stu was conceived, so he says, at a Bon Jovi concert!
“We made the choice not to go to university as we don’t want to end up being twenty-somethings with a load of debt and a useless degree in geography!" says singer Si. Instead, they are gigging up and down the country.
