Van Halen Set For New Album And 2011 Tour?

Good news for Van Halen fans, rumours are getting stronger that the band are to extensively tour in 2011, following a new album release early next year.

Whilst the internet has seen rumours running wild about the return of the iconic rock band, various reports have surfaced that original Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth is currently in the studio with the band recording a brand new album for 2011.

A recent release announcing a re-upped deal between publisher Warner/ Chappell and Eddie and Alex Van Halen stated that the band "is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011." If such statements are true, this new album will be Van Halen's first since 1998 and their first with Roth since '1984'.

No official words have been said regarding the new album yet, although reports have surfaced claiming that David Lee Roth is recording vocals away from the band's 5150 studio while guitarist Eddie works on the tunes. Ross Hogarth, the man reportedly producing the new album, who has previously worked with fellow rock giants Motely Crue, posted a clever message online earlier this summer saying: “The record I just started ROCKS!!! [It] will be amazing... That is all I will say...”

In more exciting VH news, according to reports from MelodicRock.com. Van Halen will set out on a massive tour in 2011, which will include North America, Europe and Australia. The band will line-up as they did for the 2007 jaunt with David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's son) all treading the stage boards!

Forming in 1972, the Californian band rose to world fame straight from the release of their 1978 debut album ‘Van Halen’. Now listed as the 19th best selling band of all time, Van Halen have sold over 56 million albums in the US and over 80 million albums worldwide.

As well as their massive success, Van Halen also recognised for the drama surrounding the departure of former band members. Both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar have left the group multiple times amidst controversy, more recently bassist Michael Anthony also dramatically exited Van Halen.
