Rewind: The 80s Music Festival’ is to launch a new weekend event at Scone Palace in Perthshire, Scotland from July 29th–31st 2011. The festival will boast the biggest live outdoor line-up of 80s recording artists and performers ever!
Originally launched at Henley-on-Thames in 2009, the festival attracted over 30,000 festival-goers, and was nominated for the prestigious Best New Festival award. Returning in 2010, the Henley crowd swelled to 40,000, and the event was broadcast on Sky Arts Television. The 80s Rewind Festival boasts the biggest line-up of artists since Live Aid and in its first two years has featured such iconic 80s names as: Boy George, Tony Hadley, Rick Astley, Gloria Gaynor, Kim Wilde, ABC, Go West, Howard Jones, Nik Kershaw and many more.
The organisers have now announced that a Scottish version of the festival will be launched in 2011 at the historic setting of Scone Palace in Perthshire – the home of The Earls of Mansfield and the crowning palace of the Kings of Scotland. The festival will take place on the weekend of July 29th-31st and will feature a massive line-up of 80s artists as well as loads of other festival fun, from Silent Discos to Live Karaoke bars along with Camping and Glamping (Glamorous Camping) options.
Festival-goers will have to wait until the middle of January for the full "official" line-up to be announced. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 9am on Friday January 21st 2011.
