Tennessee rockers Kings Of Leon are said to be furious after a casting company posted an insensitive request for extras in their name last month. The advertisement, which was posted on Newyork.Craigslist.com, asked for "characters with scars, pockmarked skin, physical abnormalities or deformities” to appear in their latest video, ‘Pyro’.
Fans were offered $300 to take part in the two-day shoot in New England, and were especially desired if they were "unattractive, rough around the edges" or "a little slow".
However, the band have stated that they in no way approved of the advert, and were furious when they discovered it. In an interview earlier this week, guitarist Matthew Followill declared:"We were really embarrassed about it but we had nothing to do with it."
He added: "They put it out and as soon as we read it we were humiliated and phoned the managers. We were furious." The video for ‘Pyro’ was made available to view on YouTube earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Kings Of Leon have requested that they have private toilet facilities on their current UK tour, if reports are to be believed. The band have supposedly requested that no-one else should be permitted to use their toilets or showers during their tour dates in Manchester and Sheffield this week. The ban is said to extend to all members of their tour crew and even support act The Whigs.
