American network CBS has released pictures of Katy Perry recording scenes with the cast of hit sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother'. The pictures show the singer sharing a moment with womaniser Barney (played by Neil Patrick Harris) and sharing a joke with the cast in their regular bar, ‘McClarens’.
Perry is set to play the role of Honey, cousin of the main antagonist for this series, Zoey Van Smoot. It is the third in a string of acting gigs for the ‘California Gurls’ singer, who also performed on The Simpsons and made a controversial appearance on Sesame Street late last year. The episode is due to air in the US on February 7th and in the UK later this year.
Meanwhile, Perry has been discussing in some depth details about her upcoming worldwide tour. In an interview with a US radio station this week, the singer announced that she would be flooding her shows with the smell of candy floss using giant fans. Some might see the idea as bizarre, but she seemed excited enough when she said: "It's a really cool tour because it's going to be engaging all your senses. It's going to reek of cotton candy which is going to be amazing. It's going to look so delicious. I think you're going to want to go and eat or raid a candy store after the tour."
Clearly wanting to pull out all the stops, Perry also described the tour’s “Broadway feel” in an interview with Rolling Stone this week. She said: “Touring is no longer an ordinary thing where you play an instrument in jeans and a T-shirt. It has some pizazz these days, and I'm definitely bringing the pizazz with a lot of bells and whistles. The show has a Broadway feel to it. It's got a storyline that's going to be very interesting, kind of loosely based on my life, but a cartoon version."
