Justin Bieber, Usher and Jaden Smith rocked the Grammy Awards ceremony last night with an extended medley featuring ‘Baby’, ‘Never Say Never’ and an impressive dance-number to Usher’s 2010 hit ‘OMG’. You can watch the full performance below:
Despite the dance and vocal display, Bieber was unfortunate and failed to recieve any awards during the evening. The singer missed out on the ‘Best New Artist’ award to a relatively-unknown jazz singer, Esperanza Spalding.
However, Bieber can rest easy that he has not lost the backing of his teen fanbase. Twitter was yesterday straining under the weight of fans commenting on the supposed injustice of his loss, quick to point out Spalding’s status as a lesser-known artist.
Fans also bombarded her Wikipedia and Twitter pages with a series of abusive messages, changing details on her biography to include the young Canadian singer’s name. Bieber showed his own disappointment last night in an interview with MTV. He said:"I'm not going to lie — I was disappointed. But, you know, I'm gonna come back [next year] and we'll take a few home."
