Lady Gaga To Release 'Born This Way' For Gay Rights Charity

Lady Gaga has revealed that she will release a limited edition of her recent single ‘Born This Way’ to raise money for gay rights. According to Billboard, the special single will be supported by US retail giants Target. It has not yet been confirmed if the release is intended as an international or simply a North American campaign.

Gaga has centred her campaign around the Target store group after holding talks with the retailer about their political alliances. The singer reacted after Target had been found to support anti-gay political candidates instead of equal rights charities.

As a direct answer to the discussions, Target has promised to back the ‘Born This Way’ campaign which is aimed at promoting equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals.

Meanwhile, Gaga is preparing for the debut of her ‘Born This Way’ video this Monday (February 18th). The singer is said to have recorded two separate promotional videos for the single, one for general release on Monday and the second, a ‘stripped down’ version of the song to be sold on iTunes. Profits from the iTunes release will be donated to (presumably a gay rights) charity.
