Flaming Lips and The Go! Team Added to Eden Sessions Line-up

Psychedelic indie-rockers The Flaming Lips have been announced as the third headlining act to be confirmed for this year’s Eden Sessions festival in Cornwall. The US rock group, fronted by Wayne Coyne, will be joined on the 30th June by Brighton’s The Go! Team and alternative rockers OK Go. This latest announcement follows news of the previously-confirmed Eden Sessions headliners Fleet Foxes and Primal Scream.

Flaming Lips’ performance at Eden Sessions will take place a day before their show at Alexandra Palace in London, where the band will play their classic album, 1999’s ‘The Soft Bulletin’, in its entirety. Last year, they headlined the Other Stage at Glastonbury Festival, where they performed a typically extravagant set featuring glitter, confetti and singer Coyne rolling over the crowd’s heads in a large bubble.

Earlier this year, The Go! Team released their third album ‘Rolling Blackouts’, which founding member Ian Parton recently suggested might be their last. The announcement of their addition to the Eden Sessions line-up follows the band’s recently-completed UK tour.

The Eden Sessions has taken place every year at the Eden Project near St Austell in Cornwall since 2002 and has previously hosted performances by Amy Winehouse, Muse and Lily Allen. Tjarko Wieringa, Eden Sessions Creative Director, said: “The Flaming Lips are one of the best live bands in the world and we’re hugely excited to see them play the Eden Sessions. They will be complimented brilliantly by The Go! Team and together they should make for one of the most spectacular and exciting gigs we’ve ever seen here.”
