Arctic Monkeys Post New Song ‘Brick By Brick’ Online – Listen Now

Saturday, 05 March 2011 Written by James Conlon

Arctic Monkeys have revealed a new track online. The Sheffield-born band posted a new song, ‘Brick By Brick’ on their YouTube channel last night. The track is an impressive first taste of their post-‘Humbug’ direction, fusing guitar-led atmospherics with a repetitive chorus line.

'Brick By Brick' seems to be receiving fairly good reviews from fans, with over 150,000 views in just over 12 hours. Many have been quick to note the 60s vibe on the track, which is believed to be included on their as-of-yet untitled fourth studio album.

The video is admittedly not the most inventive thing in the world, focusing mostly on a record being turned on and spinning as it plays. The band are notably absent from the promo, appearing only briefly in silhouette on a beach before the video moves on to a number of American landscape shots.

The video also features a number of shots from the band’s American studio. Arctic Monkeys are currently in Los Angeles, recording the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Humbug’. They are said to be working with producer James Ford (of Simian Mobile Disco fame).
