A cappella pop superstars The Magnets have been confirmed as the headline act at the Camden Roundhouse ‘Voices Now’ festival on Saturday 26th March.
The six piece London band is acclaimed for its outrageous vocal acrobatics and will be among the highlights of the four-day vocal festival (24-27th March) which features over 1000 amateur singers, choral workshops and celebrated choirs including the BBC Singers, The Latvian Radio Choir and the London Symphony Chorus.
The band’s recent endorsement by T-Mobile for its flashmob TV adverts, together with sold-out shows across the UK and Europe have placed The Magnets at the forefront of acts to watch in 2011. Their live performances, developed over 10 years of touring, have earned the band a huge - but largely unreported - following. Last year they sold out The Roundhouse with no publicity at all.
Expect to hear a sun-soaked lounge version of Blur’s ‘Girls & Boys', an adrenaline-fuelled mash up of Fat Boy Slim's 'Weapon of Choice’ and the band’s trademark mega-medleys, currently a show-stopping A - Z of movie themes from the A-Team to Zulu.
This is a must see gig. There’s no-one like them.
