German digital hardcore group Atari Teenage Riot have announced details of their new single ‘Blood In My Eyes’. The track will be released on 4th April and is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘Is This Hyperreal?’. It is the band’s fourth album and their first in twelve years. Atari Teenage Riot will play several live dates in the UK in May, including the Bang Face Weekender at Camber Sands on 14th May. The band’s performance at London’s HMV Forum on 12th May will include a DJ set from The Big Pink.
Atari Teenage Riot were formed in Berlin in 1992 and released three albums before disbanding in 2000. 1999’s ’60 Second Wipe Out’, which featured contributions from members of Fear Factory and Bikini Kill, was their final release. After their split, founding member Alec Empire went on to concentrate on his solo career, as well as other projects. Ten years later, Atari Teenage Riot reformed for a series of live dates, including London’s Offset Festival in September 2010.
Atari Teenage Riot are to release ‘Is This Hyperreal?’, the first album since their reunion, sometime this year. The band will play the following UK live dates in May:
12th May – London HMV Forum
13th May – Bristol Fleece
14th May – Bang Face Weekender, Camber Sands
