Katy Perry Ready To Release E.T. - Video Inside

American pop icon Katy Perry has revealed the new video for single ‘E.T.’, as well as setting an April 4th release date for track.

The new tune, featuring Kanye West, is taken from her latest LP “Teenage Dream" – which becomes the first album in more than six years to yield four No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

The space-age love song follows "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, the title cut and "Firework" to the chart's summit, making Perry's second Capitol Records album the first to hit a quartet of Hot 100 No. 1s since Usher's "Confessions" in 2004.

The video for 'E.T.' has been directed by Floria Sigismondi who has also directed clips for David Bowie, Björk, and Marilyn Manson and features guest singer Kanye West.

"The main gist of the song is that it is a metaphor about finding someone who is just obviously not from this world because how could they love me like this?,” Perry says. “Even though it is a metaphor, I’m very interested in all things futuristic. I mean I complain every day that the hoverport has not been invented. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous...I look out into the sky and to the stars and I feel like there is so much out there that I’d love to know.”

Katy premiered her cotton candy themed live show on our shores in March and continues her live extravaganza with UK shows through April – you can catch the well-loved singer at an of the following dates:

Apr 1 Fri - Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff
Apr 3 Sun - Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle
Apr 4 Mon - LG Arena, Birmingham
Apr 5 Tue - SECC, Glasgow
Apr 9 Sat - Wembley Arena, London
