Girls Aloud Confirm 2012 Reunion Plans

Girls Aloud have confirmed that they plan to reunite in 2012 to mark their tenth anniversary as a group. The British girlband, who were formed through singing competition ‘Popstars: The Rivals’, are said to be looking to reunite with runaway member Cheryl Cole, although Cole is yet to confirm the reports herself.

Speaking about the reunion, the band’s manager Hilary Shaw told MTV: “Everybody wants them to make a comeback and it will be next year. Well, it is their 10th anniversary so there will be something."

However, Shaw was keen to emphasise that the group would be unlikely to return with new material next year, claiming that all members are currently fully engaged with their solo activities.

She was also quick to dismiss recent reports of an in-band feud, saying: "The girls are still getting on great, they speak all the time, and that includes Cheryl and Nadine [Coyle] with the other girls. Cheryl is keen to get back with the girls and is planning something which could be a one-off or some gigs."

Despite the announcement, Cole is now confirmed to be in talks to become a judge on the US version of Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’. The Geordie singer is also in the studio, preparing an amalgamation version of her first two albums to be released in America. The singer is also said to be planning collaborations with Rihanna and Katy Perry for her US LP.
