Triple BBC Folk Award winners Lau have announced the release date of their second in a trio of EPs – this time working with electronic artist/producer Adem from Domino Records. ‘Ghosts’ will hit stores on May 23rd.
Lau have long since been known for their forward-thinking and adventurous, non-traditional approach to folk music so teaming up with avant garde producer and electronic artist Adem (Domino Records) was a natural step for them as artists when they decided to make a series of three EP’s showcasing the different influences to their sound.
Adem had been a fan of Lau’s music since attending their sell out show at Edinburgh Queens Hall in 2009 and they had numerous links via engineers, fellow musicians and artist friends on the Scottish music scene. The EP was recorded at Adem’s London studio, and you can see a short video of the recording sessions embedded below.
The series of three EP’s includes the now sold out Lau vs Karine Polwart 'Evergreen' and will conclude with 'Trad EP' which is due for release after their next studio album in 2012.
