Tim Minchin Added to the Apple Cart Festival Line-up

Musical comic Tim Minchin has been confirmed for the comedy stage at the first-ever Apple Cart festival in Victoria Park, London. Acts previously announced for the event on 7th August include Badly Drawn Boy, St Etienne, Soul II Soul and The Magic Numbers. Among the list of other comedians announced for the Apple Cart are stand-ups Marcus Brigstocke and Jon Richardson.
This month, Tim Minchin will be ending his recent orchestra tour at dates in Glasgow, Sheffield and Liverpool. The comedian, who has become known for his satirical and often controversial songs, last visited the UK with his full 55-piece orchestra back in December 2010 on an arena tour, which included a date at London’s O2. After his upcoming string of dates, Tim will be returning to the UK this summer to appear on the Alternative Stage at the Leeds and Reading festivals on the 27th and 28th August respectively.
Tim Minchin recently turned to the theatre, when he co-wrote a musical adaption of Roald Dahl’s book ‘Matilda’. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that ‘Matilda – A Musical’ will be making its West End debut in late 2011.
