Slipknot's Sid Wilson On Life Within Slipknot and The Future of the Band

Slipknot’s #0 DJ Sid Wilson has spoken out about the future of Slipknot, declaring that life is tough within the circle of the band ahead of their first tour without bassist Paul Gray, who died of an overdose last year.

Speaking in an interview on an American radio station Banana FM, Wilson discussed the possibility that the band may not continue further than their tour planned for this summer.

"It's a complicated thing, I wish I could candy-coat it and say that everything's cool and everything is gonna be great, but it's a constant battle out there.

"We've been doing this thing for awhile now so there have been a lot of changes in a lot of people. I guess it's just gonna depend on how we get along together when we're out on the road.

“I think the most important thing to remember is that Slipknot will always exist — whether with or without the guys in the band — and I think that's been proven since the passing of Paul and how much support we've gotten from the fans and how much greater he's become in spirit form.

“And we will always all be Slipknot. I love all the guys like family; they're my brothers. So I have nothing but love for everybody and nothing but great hopes for the future."

It’s been an emotional and also confusing year for the guys in the band, with different members of the band unsure of what will happen to the band. Frontman Corey Taylor is sceptical of playing without his bassist Gray, admitting he was ‘scared to death’ at the idea and also said “If this tour doesn’t work Slipknot might be over."
B
ut, legendary drummer Joey Jordison has a different outlook and has said "These are going to be some of the most amazing shows we’ve ever done.”

There is also confusion over whether the band is recording a new album – Jordison stated: "As far as I’m concerned, Slipknot’s my baby and I have a bunch of songs written. I’m in rehearsal right now with the guys and it’s completely on fire."

But Taylor contradicted the statement, admitting "I don't see it happening. And if it does, it'll be way, way down the line."

Slipknot are set to play at this summer’s seismic Sonisphere festival alongside the big four – a set which may be your last chance to catch the iconic and notorious metal-heads playing live. You can find tickets for Sonisphere, and any other Slipknot dates below.
