The four members of Take That who reunited in 2005 will act as backing singers when Robbie Williams performs his solo songs on the band’s upcoming UK tour. The ‘Angels’ singer will have the vocal backing of the remaining Take That members as he performs material he released as a solo artist during a section of their ‘Progress Live’ tour.
It has been revealed that Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange will join Williams on stage for the segment, helping him perform the material which he released after originally departing the band in 1995.
A source (supposedly) close to the band told The Sun: "The guys agreeing to sing backing to Robbie's classics throughout the shows really is significant - all the hard feelings have been put behind them.
They continued: "At first he was to go it alone for a mid-set medley but they agreed they all needed to perform on the songs, even if it is just backing harmonies. They are not solo artists. They are Take That."
‘Progress Live’ will begin in Sunderland next Friday (May 27th), where the band will unveil an elaborate set design which is said to have cost in the region of £50 million to construct.
Speaking about the set design, a source said: "Sure, the band will be making good money. But it could be a hell of a lot more. You wouldn't believe the amount of cash they are pouring back into the stage sets and visual aspect of the show."
