Bombay Bicycle Club have revealed that they are planning to release their latest studio album this August. The young band have given a provisional date of August 22nd for the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed sophomore LP, the stripped-back ‘Flaws’.
The album will see the London four-piece return to their electric roots, plugging in their guitars once more for a continuation of the sounds which drove their debut effort ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook them Loose’.
Produced by Jim Abiss and Ben Allen (of Animal Collective fame), the record might have an international feel after being recorded in London, Germany and Atlanta over the course of the past year. Although the band have been reluctant to debut new material live so far, tentative track titles include ‘Shuffle’, 'Bad Timing', 'What You Want', 'Still' and 'Fractures'.
Speaking to NME about the release, frontman Jack Steadman claimed that the sound is a complete departure from the band’s previous work. He said: "The first time I played it to any of my friends was at a house party and none of them believed it was Bombay Bicycle Club."
Bombay Bicycle Club will have a busy summer prior to the release of their as-of-yet untitled third LP. The band are scheduled to perform at a number of festivals this year, with slots confirmed at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Hop Farm, Rockness, Latitude and Benacassim festivals.
Bombay Bicycle Club UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:
Fri June 10th 2011 - Dores, Inverness

Sat August 27th 2011 - Richfield Avenue, Reading
