Paul McCartney Claims The Rolling Stones Were Jealous Of The Beatles

Sir Paul McCartney has claimed that The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards once confessed that he was jealous of The Beatles’ impressive vocal albilities. The knighted Liverpudlian explained that Richards was jealous of The Beatles’ four singers (and their vocal harmonies) compared to the Stones’ one.

Speaking to The Radio Times recently, McCartney said: "I talked to Keith Richards a couple of years ago, and his take on it was: 'Man, you were lucky, you guys, you had four lead singers,' whereas The Rolling Stones only had one."

He continued: "We were an entity. Mick [Jagger] used to call us the four-headed monster. We would show up at places all dressed the same."

McCartney also went on to state that The Beatles were lucky to have formed when they did. The songwriter claimed that the famous four-piece were fortunate to have missed out on compulsory national service, which was terminated just a few years before their initial formation.

He said: "One of the most amazing things for The Beatles is that we just missed it. A couple of years earlier, we would have been in the army, and it's very doubtful that The Beatles would have formed."

Meanwhile, Paul McCartney is currently touring Brazil. The singer is performing in Rio de Janeiro this week, the first time that he has performed in Brazil for 21 years.
