The Sounds Première Video For 'Dance With The Devil'

Friday, 27 May 2011 Written by Jon Stickler

The Sounds’ video for 'Dance With The Devil,' from their latest album, 'Something To Die For', has been premiered. The risqué montage goes in step with the quintet’s new fierce independence, which they embrace after thriving as a band for ten years and four albums.

The thumping urgency of the track is conveyed with the stark black and white imagery, depicting a band that has been hijacked and blindfolded. And speaking of stark, awe-inspiring frontwoman Maja Ivarsson appears nude in the entire sequence, covered only in her dripping black eyeliner. Their captors erupt into a unified dance sequence to remind us, after all, The Sounds are all about dancing.

Their post-punk, dance floor-ready album 'Something To Die For', released on SideOneDummy Records in the UK on the 6th June, teems with their insignia of sassy punk/electro sing-alongs and plenty of attitude. To celebrate this release, the band returned to the UK after 2 years away to perform a much anticipated headline slot at Club NME KOKO and a smaller set at this year’s Great Escape festival.
