Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce Details Of New Album

After months of speculation, Red Hot Chili Peppers have now confirmed the release date and title of their latest studio album.

‘I’m With You’ will be made available on August 29th and follows 2006’s double album ‘Stadium Arcadium’ as their 10th studio album. Produced by regular collaborator Rick Rubin, the album will be preceded by the single ‘The Adventure Of Raindance Maggie’ which will be released on July 18th.

Despite speculation the album would be launched with the title  'Dr Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head', a title which was inspired by a dream one of Anthony Kiedis’ friends had while on an acid trip, the Californian foursome decided for the more ordinary ‘I’m With You’ in the end.

It will be the first time since 1995 and the release of ‘One Hot Minute’ that the Chili’s will release an album not featuring guitarist John Frusciante (pictured second from right) who quit the band in 2009. He has been replaced by ex-Warpaint axe man Josh Klinghoffer.

A promotional tour is expected to be announced soon with dates for Brazil, Japan and Hong Kong having been confirmed already. Rumours have already begun that the band will be a headliner at 2012’s Reading & Leeds festivals as part of a European leg of a World tour.
