Taylor Swift has confirmed that she will be joining the Black Eyed Peas for their charity ‘Concert 4 NYC’ in Central Park. The singer/songwriter will be performing alongside LL Cool J, Carole King and Natasha Bedingfield at the event, all proceeds from which will be donated to the Robin Hood Foundation.
The charity helps New Yorkers who are struggling with poverty, as well as providing assistance and support for those affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The event was instigated and line-up has been organised primarily by members of R&B group the Black Eyed Peas.
Speaking about Swift’s addition to the line-up, Fergie said in a statement: "We are thrilled to have Taylor on board to benefit two very important causes. Not only will she be an amazing addition to our line-up, she is an incredible inspiration to people of all ages and her music gives a voice to those who feel left behind."
The concert, which will take place on June 9th from 7.30pm, will also feature the likes of comedians Zach Braff, Whoopi Goldberg and Jimmy Smits.
Meanwhile, four-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift is set to open this evening’s CMT Music Awards with a sketch alongside Shania Twain. The pair are said to have filmed a short film spoofing the hit 1991 movie ‘Thelma & Louise’.
